Umbria Jazz Winter 16: Jazz & Food (English)
Pubblicato il 25 maggio 2009
We can listen to jazz at the theatre or in concert halls...
but one of the best ways is of course to enjoy the music while we’re savouring a meal. Great live jazz bands with international artists are already a long established tradition here in the restaurants in Orvieto.
And this year is no different at the 16th edition of Umbria Jazz Winter. Guitarists Chip Wilson and John Rankin were among the artists who performed at the palazzo del gusto and their concerts were followed by a tasting of local products.
Every evening at twelve o’clock, the group round midnight performed at the San Giovenale and San Francesco restaurants. A round up of talented artists including Renato Sellani and Gianni Basso.
Numerous musicians gave lunch and dinner concerts at San Francesco, such as Vaneese Thomas & The Soul Spinners and Rimbamband.
Over the years, the Winter edition of Umbria Jazz has earned itself a very special place on the Italian music scene. This is thanks to its festival formula, which brings together tourism, culture, cuisine and music.
